Between January and May Peru exported a total of 7,198,686 kilos of strawberries for a FOB value of $14,283,166. This is significantly higher than the 3,200,591 kilos exported for 6,037,374 dollars in the same period of 2020, according to data from the Agrodata website.
The main destination of the shipments was the United States, where placements were achieved for 7,298,302 dollars (51% of total shipments). It was followed by Canada with $3,544,886, South Korea with $1,382,325, Japan with $1,325,681, Puerto Rico with $277,243, Panama with $197,735, the Dominican Republic with $49,463, and other destinations with lower amounts than combined totaled $207,532.
The main exporting companies were Mebol SAC, which achieved sales for 4,823,678 dollars, Del Ande Alimentos SAC with $3,812,092, Mebol GF SAC with $2,441,114, Frozen Foods SAC with $1,469,657, Agro Frost SA with $551,433, Procesadora Peru SAC with $391,105, Agricola y Ganadera Chavin de Huantar SA with $82,161, and others that together totaled $711,927.
