Morocco exports 25,800 tons of produce to Almeria

Between January and March of 2021, Morocco exported some 25,800 tons of vegetables to various companies in the Spanish city of Almeria. Morocco’s exports reached a total value of $37.9 million for this year’s first three months.

Almerian companies' most sought-after import for the time period was the common bean, also known as the French bean, which made up 30.11% of the exports, or 7.8 million kilograms, with the price averaging at $1.71 per kilogram. In a close second followed Moroccan peppers, 6.8 million kilograms, 26.41% of all fresh produce exports, valued at $0.74 per kilogram.

Moroccoworldnews.com reports that third place on the list for Almerian imports of Moroccan produce is for tomatoes, with 4.9 million kilograms, representing 19.09% of the imports, with a value of $6.4 million, priced at an average of $1.47 per kilo.
