McDonald’s France: cucumber in the Happy Meal

In order to diversify its offer, McDonald’s France has decided to add cucumber sticks to its Happy Meal menu. The company has therefore bought 50 tons of cucumbers from Florette. Christophe Martineau, director of key accounts of the brand, indicated to local newspapers that the production “will last until the end of May.”

The objective is to make small portions of 60 grams and to place them in Happy Meals everywhere in France. “We have been supplying McDonald’s with cucumbers since 2019. We are in the middle of the production season. Next will be the cherry tomatoes,” adds Christophe Martineau.

“We work with ultra-fresh products. We are familiar with the seasonality of the varieties.”

“Three French cooperatives supply us with these cucumbers, following precise specifications. For example, they must be perfectly straight because we cut them into sticks at our production site in Toreilles.”
