The Minister of Agriculture visits the Finca Boyal company

The municipality of Don Benito, Extremadura, exports mini-cucumbers and snack peppers to the Netherlands and Germany

On Tuesday, February 23, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population, and Territory, Begoña Garcia Bernal, visited the facilities of the Finca La Boyal SL, a producer of cucumbers and semi-sweet peppers snacks in the municipality of Don Benito.

The heads of the Dutch company based in Extremadura have shown the head of agriculture the ten-hectare greenhouse where they grow, hydroponically, mini-cucumbers and peppers, which are exported mainly to the Netherlands and Germany.

Begoña Garcia highlighted the innovative techniques used by the company and the agro-industrial incentives of the Board that promote the modernization and technological adaptation of Extremadura's agri-food production and marketing.

The visit was also attended by the mayor of Don Benito, Jose Luís Quintana; the Secretary-General for Population and Rural Development, Manuel Mejias Tapia; the general director of Agriculture and Livestock, Antonio Cabezas Garcia, and the general director of Community Agrarian Policy, Javier Gonzalo Langa.
