TR Turoni produces and sells gauges for fruit and vegetables

The right gauge determines the accuracy of the measurement

"I think that the gauge is a simple but fundamental tool for achieving success in the marketing of fruit and vegetables. Our measuring instruments are made of aluminium, because those made of plastic can show inaccuracies due to possible expansion," said Enrico Turoni of the Italian company TR Turoni in Forlì.

Previously, calibration was mainly important for pome fruits, stone fruits, grapes, citrus fruits and small fruits, but nowadays it is also important for vegetables. "For different types of fruit we have a wide choice of gauges. The same applies to vegetables such as asparagus, carrots, potatoes and tomatoes."

The gauges are divided into classic ring gauges, stick gauges and universal gauges, which are suitable for use in the field.

"If we take citrus as an example, we have a number of gauges available that meet the requirements of the various European regulations for both oranges, clementines and lemons."

TR Turoni has been engaged in calibre measuring for 30 years. It produces gauges of different diameters, depending on each need.
