Russia: construction of 32 ha greenhouse complex restarted in Voronezh

Tomat company recently restarted the construction of a major greenhouse complex in the Bogucharsky area of the Voronezh region in central Russia. The regional government reported this fact upon the meeting with the governor, Mr. Aleksandr Gusev with the regional prefect, Mr. Valery Kuznetsov. The first phase of the complex is planned to be completed in 2021. The overall acreage should comprise 36 ha.

Tomat first announced the construction of the greenhouse complex in 2011 but it the project has not been carried over due to the financial complications. Only 10% of the greenhouses have been constructed so far.

The financial situation of Tomat resulted in the beginning of the bankruptcy procedure. In the beginning of 2019, the company went bankrupt. However, by December of the same year, Mr. Abramyan managed to pay out the debts of the company and the bankruptcy case was closed.
