US (NC): Appalachian University’s Frontline to Farm Program to help veterans become farmers

Appalachian State University’s Department of Sustainable Development received a three-year grant from USDA for its Frontline to Farm program, reports Mountain Times.

The $599,684 grant will help veterans transition to civilian life through sustainable agriculture. The program will include a combination of web-based training modules, hands-on workshops in the field, and mentoring programs to train new farmers in sustainable agriculture.
