Ellen van Kester, Horticola Guadalfeo:

"Besides Cherokee, now also a new orange plum tomato"

Horticola Guadalfeo, in Motril, Spain, specializes in selling unique tomatoes. "By the end of summer, we had a product shortage. That was due to the July and August's high temperatures. We grow most of our Sierra tomatoes in summer. Now we've started with new, excellent quality, seasonal products. We have the usual volumes for the time of year," Ellen van Kester says.

"We cultivated our cherry, cherry plum, cherry vine, yellow and orange cherry, and cherry kumato on roughly the same acreage as other years. We also have our specialties. These include the Marazul, Rosa de la Reina (pink tomatoes), Raf, Coeur de Boeuf, and Kumato varieties."

"Our latest Cherokee tomatoes are a very fleshy, sweet, thin-skinned variety. They have a distinctive color. These tomatoes are gaining popularity. We also have a new orange plum tomato. These taste good and have a long shelf life," Ellen concludes.
