Savings in labor costs with the Horizontal Fumimatic machine

IDM develops a machine for horizontal spraying in greenhouses. The crop protection is specially suggested for strawberry, nurseries and ornamental flower crops. It is a machine just 85 cm wide, with horizontal bars that open and stretch, making the treatment from top to bottom. “It is the best solution for a quality treatment with a considerable saving of labor.”

The bars fold and extend by a hydraulic system. When folded the machine dimensions are quite reduced which makes it possible to steer and turn safely. The maximum horizontal bar extension can reach 9m according to client needs. The company can extend and fold the right and left bar independently.

'Its adaptability makes it unique in this sector’
The horizontal fumimatic can work on different crops such as strawberries, raspberries, red fruits and soilless crops. “Its adaptability makes it unique in this sector. And we guarantee that all the treatments are equal and homogeneous.”

Benefits for farmers
According to IDM, there are some big benefits for farmers. You will save labor costs for phytosanitary treatments. Also the speed in treatments will improve, only one person does the work in 1 hectare in an hour and 15 minutes.

When using the machine, there is less contact between the worker and the plant protection product. “It is about 75%.” There is also a lower consumption of the plant protection product, estimated at 40%.  The machine will ensure excellent quality and homogeneity of the treatment compared to traditional methods.
