Russia: New greenhouse complex in the Stavropol Territory

The implementation of an investment project for a new greenhouse complex in the Stavropol Territory has begun.

In the Soviet urban district of the Stavropol Territory, near the village of Soldato-Aleksandrovsky, the implementation of an investment project for the construction of a greenhouse complex has begun. It is planned to build 42 hectares of modern greenhouses, with the production of 14 thousand tons of tomatoes per year, to create over 600 jobs. The first stage is scheduled to be completed within the next year, the full implementation of the investment project is scheduled until 2022.

Currently, in the Stavropol Territory, greenhouse vegetables are grown on 237 hectares. Tomatoes account for 74 percent of the region’s entire greenhouse basket. In terms of the collection of these products, the Stavropol Territory ranks third in Russia. In total, over the past six years, 11 investment projects in the field of greenhouse vegetable growing have been implemented in the region.
