A local college is taking things to the next level to educate students about agriculture.
Since 2018, Sweet Briar College has built a 20-hive apiary, two vineyards, a 20-acre wildflower meadow for pollinator habitat and now, the 27,000-foot greenhouse.
Sweet Briar will use the greenhouse in a number of ways including using the space for classes and hosting a farmers market.
Luther Griffith, Vice President for Auxiliary Enterprises says the greenhouse will help the college bottom line.
"This will bring in an additional stream also as well I suspect the event space initially will be a sort of hot space for people to want to have functions in there," said Griffith.
