Almeria will have a new crop research center

Rijk Zwaan Ibérica, S.A. has already been granted permission by the City Council of Almeria to undertake the construction of a research center for new crops on the Mamí Highway. With this new project, the company intends to expand its current facilities by just over 3,000 m2, reaching a total of 9,672 m².

This initiative will lead to a substantial improvement of the facilities of the existing Research Center, creating a large scientific complex in the municipality of Almería which will undoubtedly help enhance research in the field of agriculture. The expansion will also entail opportunities to collaborate with educational institutions, such as the University, and to create jobs. 120 people make up the current workforce, and with the planned expansion, the company could raise that figure to 160 people.
