Kilometers of string are used in greenhouses to tie up the crops at the start of a new growing season. To make the hanging of the string easy, Steenks Service have developed a string machine. Nearly 500 units of the latest model has been sold and it is also a success abroad, according to Steenks.
The string machines are suitable for growing cucumber, bell pepper, eggplant and zucchini. With this machine, which can be mounted on any type of pipe rail trolley, the string can be cut to size quickly. “When the grower takes a string and hangs it up, it will automatically be cut off. Then a new string of equal length is dispensed. This way, the grower can carry out his work very easily," says Wouter Steenks.
This string machine can cut up to 2,000 strings per hour of the same length. The machine can handle many types of string and thicknesses, has a sharp string cutter made of high-quality steel, works fast and is maintenance-free. All string machines are as standard supplied with a pole and two footrests.
