Russia: More vegetables and roses from Yaroslavsky greenhouse complex

Yaroslavsky greenhouse complex have begun collecting crops. People in the region will soon have access to locally grown fresh tomatoes and cucumbers as well as potted flowers.

“An Automated microclimate regulation system is used in the Yaroslavsky greenhouse complex," mentioned the Head of the Department of the Agricultural and Production Complex and Consumer Market, Mr. Evgeniy Sorokin. “All the processes here are automated. There is also a private meteorological station. All these factors enable reduction of production costs with the guaranteed highest quality and quantity of the produce. Plant protection from pests and diseases is carried out in accordance with most contemporary tendencies, biological protection method is applied.”

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, last year due to the investment project completion the fourth stage of the greenhouse with the acreage of seven ha was launched. This allowed for the creation of hundreds of working places.

Apart from the vegetables, the enterprise have been growing roses for two years now. The corresponding investment project was carried over on the acreage of 1.6 ha. The investments amounted to 7 million euro.

Upon the results of the past year, greenhouse vegetable production reached 8.8 thousand tons. The enterprise also produced more than 2 million potted plants.

In the current year LLC Greenhouse Complex Yaroslavsky are planning to grow over 14 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables. Within the past months, they have picked 11 thousand tons of cucumbers and almost 2.5 thousand tons of tomatoes.

The produce of the enterprise is in high demand among the consumers of the Central Federal District. The greenhouse complex have signed delivery contracts with federal trade chains as well as wholesalers of Yaroslavl, Moscow, Ivanovo and Vladimir regions.
