PerseusF1, the broccoli with high yields that makes it possible to extend the Spanish campaign

In the framework of an event held on November 12, Sakata Seed Ibérica presented PerseusF1, the latest addition to the early-cycle broccoli family. The event started at 10:00 in Alhama de Murcia. Around 200 producers and a number of media had the chance to learn first-hand about the characteristics of this new variety, which is hitting the market after more than nine years of trials.

The variety is highly demanded by producers, since it gives them great advantages. It is intended for autumn harvesting, from October 15 to December 15, and stands out for its capacity to adapt to areas with water shortages and saline soils, with an early crop cycle that oscillates between 70 and 80 days. PerseusF1 will help the growers have a more stable production throughout the year, acting as a bridge between the summer and winter productions.

Thanks to its high yield, the PerseusF1 is a variety that can be used both for the fresh market and for the industry. "The producers were very surprised with the truly short cycle of the PerseusF1 and the size and vigor of the pieces after only 70-72 days of cultivation," says Antonio Ibarra, head of brassica development at the company.

Throughout the day, the attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a product tasting, received several gifts and participated in the raffle for a trip to Athens for two people. Bernardino Contreras was the lucky winner of this prize.

Sakata is very satisfied with how the event went and strongly believes in the need to continue organizing such meetings, as they are the best scenario to strengthen relationships.
