1,720 solar panels for Dutch pepper growers

960 solar panels were already installed on the roof of the Westlandpeppers packaging hall, but there was still space left. Recently, another 380 solar panels were added and, to top it all off, another 380 units will be added next year.

The 960 solar panels in 2018 generated approximately 218,000 KWh of energy, which is equivalent to the consumption of 62 households per year and approximately 1/3 of the company’s annual usage.

Another 380 solar panels have now been added in recent weeks. At the beginning of October, the installation of the extra solar panels was started and at the end of October all 380 panels were placed on the roof.

In 2020 another 380 will be added so that by the end of 2020 there will be a total of 1,720 solar panels on the packaging hall roof. The sustainably generated energy is used for cultivation and packaging of the products.
