British companies unite in group pavilion at Fruit Attraction

The Commercial Horticultural Association (CHA) is taking its first British group pavilion at Fruit Attraction, in partnership with the Department for International Trade and its Agri Tech Organisation, presenting a range of companies offering innovative and new technologies in Hall 4.

At stand 4D09, visitors can take away the CHA Buyers’ Guide for 2019/20 and the UK Capability in Commercial Horticulture publication produced on behalf of the UK government.

Visitors to the British Pavilion will also be able to discuss Brexit with DIT experts and any concerns they may have regarding possible new rules and regulations. They can also liaise with trade advisers from the British Embassy in Madrid.

British Group exhibitors include:

BPI Horticulture - Stand 4D09
Developed in partnership with leading plant scientists, this company produces greenhouse and polytunnel films that prevent short wavelength UV light from reaching plants. Its Lumisol UV transparent range allows UVB to enter the greenhouse to enhance crop fragrance, taste and colour in addition to increasing crop yield and more uniform growth.

The firm’s classic tunnel film range offers cover and protection to field grown crops such as soft fruit whilst increasing plant yield and quality. With numerous technical advantages to satisfy almost any growing condition, BPI offers films that facilitate high light transmission in addition to films that reduce peak temperatures.

FungiAlert Ltd - Stand 4D09
FungiAlert provides growers and agronomists with critical information on soil and water microbiology, enabling decisions to optimise productivity, crop shelf life and sustainability. FungiAlert’s patented SporSenZ sensor uniquely detects live and active microbes (both pathogenic and beneficial). Early detection guides sustainable crop protection strategies, including the assessment of IPM systems, and the performance of fungicides.

Martin Lishman - Stand 4D09
Martin Lishman Ltd’s latest innovation is the ImpacTrack family of synthetic food shapes which replicate the size, density and movement characteristics of fruit and vegetables prone to damage and bruising during handling and transport.

ImpacTrack measures temperature and shock in the production line, and transmits this via Bluetooth to the ML Sensing App, this locates damage sources and improves quality control. Operators can also monitor transport shipments.

ImpacTrack is a vital addition to the quality control tools available to reduce fruit and vegetable losses due to damage in handling and transit, leading to less waste and higher production yields.

Mirius - Stand 4D09
Horticide is a powerful proven surface disinfectant for the sanitization and disinfection of glasshouses, pots, trays, matting and pathways in all areas for the production on fruit and vegetables. It has been tested against many plant disorders including PSVd, pepino mosaic virus, verticillium disorders and pseudomonas

Omniclean is a fast foaming cleaner for all surfaces to remove bio-films and organic matter from the surfaces. It can also be used for the removal of green algae off glass, concrete and pathways.

The Commercial Horticultural Association (CHA), the UK trade association for manufacturers and suppliers of plants, products and services to commercial horticulture worldwide, will also be present on the group pavilion during Fruit Attraction to provide information to visitors to the exhibition.
