A report of the Cropex Group Day

"To acquire knowledge, you have to share it"

On September 27, Cropex Group organized the Cropex Group Day. Thirteen cultivation advisers visited growers to learn. Cropex Group reports the day.

For several years, the greenhouses are used for the cultivation of vegetables and flowers. In recent years, we see a new 'green' landscape unfolding. Vertical farming is hot at the moment, but the cultivation of cannabis has found its way to the greenhouse. It turns out that knowledge of cultivation as it has been done for years is important. It has also become clear that new knowledge has to be developed together to keep up with these innovations.

Investing in new knowledge
To acquire knowledge, you have to share knowledge. That is also the starting point of the 13 cultivation advisers of the Cropex Group. On Friday September 27, they went out as a group to learn from others.

Visiting
First, they went to Certhon in Poeldijk. Here, they looked at and discussed all the ins and outs of Vertical Farming. They had a look at the strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, and bell pepper cultivations. This company is also working to improve its knowledge to better serve their customers.

In the afternoon, they visited Koppert in Berkel en Rodenrijs and started with a visit to the Experience Centre. Here, it became very clear how important knowledge development is for this company. "A beautiful and innovative product is very important, but the knowledge you bring to your customers is much more important."

They also gained insight into how Koppert communicates internally and externally. "Having and developing knowledge is very important. Sharing this enables the world around us to make use of it and further develop itself."
