"Optimal humidity in trial station thanks to high pressure misting"

The Belgian Testing station for Vegetable cultivation (PSKW) in Sint-Katelijne-Waver Belgium is busy with an expansion of the current greenhouse. A 6000 m2 hypermodern greenhouse, divided over 12 departments where the testing of greenhouse vegetables will be expanded upon, is being built. In order to control the humidity (RV) in the greenhouses as well as possible a high-pressure mist system by the brand Fog System (part of the JB group) is being installed.

Work planner Coen Schalke explains why a Fog System was chosen: “Fog System is made of high-quality RVS materials. We also work with Cloud-control systems, which allows us and the client to monitor the installation in real-time and even receive notifications of malfunctions so we can solve the problems that occur.

For this, we chose a so-called ‘cascade’ control, with which we can control the pumps in a way that always makes the pumps reach the same pressure and work the same amount of hours depending on the decrease. What we also focused on with this system is the prevention of legionella, which is becoming more and more important. Our installations are built and controlled in accordance with all standards. The customer has also chosen to adjust the existing department to meet these standards.”

Construction of this installation started this week and will finish by the end of December.
