US (HI): Grow Safe, a comprehensive food safety workshop

Find out everything you need to know about growing safely, healthily, and in compliance with regulations at the Produce Safety Alliance Food Safety grower training event.

This workshop is aimed at fruit and vegetable growers who are interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices, and co-management of natural resources and food safety. 

The trainers will provide a full day of instruction introducing the concept of produce safety and discussing worker health, hygiene, and training; soil amendments; wildlife, domesticated animals, and land use; agricultural water; postharvest handling and sanitation; and how to develop a food safety plan.

Time: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Location: Pearl City Urban Garden Center

Cost to attend is $150, which includes lunch and refreshments, PSA grower training manual, and a certificate of course completion.
