While the breeders are busy making the crops on their demo fields look as presentable as possible for the visitors that are on their way to West Friesland, the organization of Seed meets Technology is working on the program of this simultaneously held trade fair. The exhibition focuses on the latest developments in the field of seed and special attention is paid to developments in the area of crop protection.
Seed meets Technology offers a platform for companies that are active in the seed industry. More than 55 domestic and foreign participants show their latest products and services, from seed processing machines up to suppliers for laboratories. Everything is being done to organize an innovative, seed-oriented and informative event.
Interactive stands and lectures
This year's event takes place from Tuesday 24 to and including Thursday 26 September 2019. In addition to a fair with interactive stands, there is also a program with various lectures on, among other things, developments in crop protection (vision for the future 2030), micro plastic, water-based cultivation and the deployment of LED lighting.
This year cooperation with Plantum was pursued again to set up a strong program. A symposium will be held on Thursday 27 September about the Future Vision on Crop Protection 2030. The Ministry itself will be present with an explanation of what can be expected and how this will affect the practice.
A speaker from Bejo Zaden will elaborate on the influence of the future vision on breeding and Incotec will explain the same, focused on seed technology. Finally, Artemis will direct itself on the possibilities that green resources offer for seed, where the problems lie and why it is difficult to find new solutions.
Other symposia that will take place during the event are the developments in hydroponics as well as sensors & automation in plant pheno-typing.
In addition to symposia that are general and informative in nature, also ten lectures will be organized by exhibitors. These include lectures on pollen (Amphasys), LED lighting (Valoya), sensors (Pedak meettechniek) and IT (Mprise Agriware).
In addition to the indoor program and the trade fair, new varieties will be explained on the outdoor fields in dozens of crops. Takii Europe, Gautier Semences, Wing Seed and Sakata all have demo fields that can be viewed by everybody. Systems and crops for growing on water will also be present.
In addition to the indoor program, new varieties are explained on the outdoor fields in dozens of crops and cultivation on water systems and crops can be found. In short: everything in the field of seed in one place.
The event can be visited free of charge, but for both a visit to the fair and visiting parts of the program, an online registration is required in advance. For the lectures a maximum number of visitors applies. Registration is easily done via www.seedmeetstechnology.com.
