Xiao Tang Shan Modern Agricultural Technology Demonstration Park (Xiao Tang Shan agriculture park) in the north of Beijing is the only national grade agricultural base in Beijing. The Xiao Tang Shan agriculture park is used for vegetable production, education of agriculture and leisure farming, which is mainly meant to supply the Beijing area. It is also one of the most advanced greenhouse production bases in China.
Beijing Kingpeng Corporation is building another glass greenhouse in the Xiao Tang Shan agriculture park and the frame structure has been finished. This glass greenhouse will be used for year-round tomato growing. Combined with Beijing’s climate and integrated with multi-disciplinary technique this greenhouse will achieve the goal of year-round production with intelligent management systems, delicate operation and scaled production.
In Beijing the lowest temperatures can reach －14～－20℃ in winter, so a heating system is absolutely necessary for the greenhouse. Besides the heating system, an extra thermal curtain system will also be applied. This thermal curtain uses polyester wadding and double layer oxford fabric on the surface, which makes the curtain system light weighted but with good thermal insulation properties. This kind of system is already widely used in greenhouses in temperate zones or cold zones.
