Peruvian government greatly values quality control in own country

Groen Agro Control opens branch in Peru

As of January 1, Groen Agro Control has been expanded with a branch in Peru. And now, because sometimes things can go quickly, already fifteen people are working for the laboratory from Delfgauw. The plans are reaching further, preparations for the new construction of a laboratory and Research centre have started.

Director Bert van Tol. "We have been active in Peru for a longer period, but this used to mean that we brought the sample we took over there to the Netherlands for research. Given that the Peruvian government prefers samples from horticulture and agriculture are tested in the country itself, we are transferring part of our activities to Lima. The horticulture sector is growing, and the accompanying checks for fertilizers, plant diseases, and residue of crop protection agents. As most of the products are exported, quality control is very important."

The team in Peru is focused on taking samples, chemical and microbiological analysis, and last but not least, they visit the customers and give them advice about fertilizers, use of crop protection agents, and food safety. Groen Agro Control is now also active in Ecuador and Columbia.

For Dutch companies that see opportunities in the growing horticulture sector in Peru, the Dutch embassy organised a trip to the country in October. Click here for more information about this Tuinbouw Roadshow.
