Investigators found a lot of green stuff in Brandenburg: Hidden between lettuce heads, a truck had loaded 250 kilograms of grass.
Last Friday, special units again struck out against an international drug ring: The marijuana truck came from Spain and was on the way to a warehouse in Großwoltersdorf (Oberhavel). Five men and a woman between the ages of 32 and 47, who are said to belong to the drug ring, are now under arrest.
Investigators also found 20 kilos of amphetamine, 15 kilos of ecstasy, two kilos of hashish, 100 grams of cocaine, 64 grams of crystal meth and diluents and scales in the search of other storage rooms and apartments. The officers also provided firearms, a crossbow, knives, and machetes.
Sales value of the drugs: a total of around 3.4 million euros
The joint investigation group Narcotics from LKA, and the customs investigation office had been tracking the criminal group for half a year.
The truck, seized on the border near Frankfurt (Oder), had been declared to contain Turkish honey, but actually hid heroin in many of the small boxes. It was the largest amount of drugs ever confiscated in Germany.
