Portugal exported 868,327kg of this product to Spain. Germany exported 463,577kg and the Netherlands, 310,503kg. In 2018, Spain paid the Netherlands nearly €2/kg of bell peppers.
Spain paid a total of €68,68 million to other countries for imported bell peppers last year. This is according to figures released by Hortoinfo. These numbers are based on Estacom (ICEX Tax Agency) statistics.
TARIC (Tariff Integrated of the European Communities) codes were used to work out these statistics. In total, Spain imported 66,43 million kgs of bell peppers in 2018. This, at an average price of €1.034/kg.
Spain bought most of its bell peppers, namely 61 million kg, from Morocco. They paid an average price of €1.008/kg. France was the country that Spain bought the second-most bell peppers from in 2018. They bought 2,97 million kg for €3,28 million at an average price of €1.01/kg.
Portugal was in third place. Spain imported a total of 868,327kg of bell peppers from this country last year. That amounts to €907,479 at an average price of €1.045/kg.
Germany, in fourth place, supplied 463,577kg of this product to Spain in 2018. This was worth €891,110, meaning they paid an average price of €1.922/kg. In fifth place is the Netherlands. Last year, they supplied 310,503kg bell peppers to Spain. The total amount paid for these, at an average price of €1.964/kg, was €609,879.
