"New LED lighting technology ensures growers maximize quality and yield"

Hydrofarm has established an exclusive partnership in the United States and Canada for high power grow lights with Sananbio to launch “Photobio Powered by Sananbio”—a horticultural LED product line specifically formulated for high power greenhouse and indoor growing with a focus on strong results for fruiting and flowering plants.

Sananbio’s unprecedented products are developed with a team of over 100 plant scientists and engineers. Product performance will be enhanced by Hydrofarm’s customer support, which includes professionally rendered lighting plans that help growers evaluate the needs and requirements of horticultural projects through every stage, including post implementation.

“Photobio Powered by Sananbio is just the beginning of our partnership with Sananbio. Our mission has been to develop only the best lighting solutions, specific to each crop with superior outcomes. A fixture’s performance should be measured in real world trials rather than how it looks on paper. Sananbio brings world-class research and production facilities to our partnership to help ensure that our customers achieve unparalleled results, whether growing high quality legal cannabis or vertical vine crops, such as tomatoes and cucumbers,” said Hydrofarm CEO Peter Wardenburg.

Michael Yates, Vice President of Technology Sales for Sananbio added, “Sananbio is backed by the world’s largest LED chip manufacturer, Sanan Optoelectronics. We not only bring large-scale manufacturing capabilities, but also an R&D team capable of customizing and designing lighting to the specific customer or plant needs.”

“The various spectra employed in the Photobio fixtures have been trialed extensively to elicit specific photomorphogenic responses in crops and flowers. We place more emphasis on PBAR (Plant Biologically Active Radiation) as it incorporates both UV and far-red light. Photobio fixtures utilize a unique optical design to distribute the superior PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) uniformity over a growing area. Our partnership with Hydrofarm will ensure dedicated customer service and distribution to growers across greenhouse and indoor farming applications,” Yates added.

Photobio was first launched at Cultivate 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. The Photobio product line includes Photobio•T and Photobio•T Duo, both LED Top Lights with Industry-Leading Light Distribution targeting at true 1-to-1 replacement of the HID grow lights; Photobio•M, a full spectrum LED grow light for multi-level indoor cultivation; Photobio•V, a modular, high-efficacy lighting solution for vertical farming; and Photobio•I, a highly efficient inter-canopy LED fixture for greenhouse growers.
