A grower in Afyon, located in western Turkey, has started to grow Peruvian groundcherry in a greenhouse he set up 2 years ago. Ibrahim Kunt sees the growth is faster in a greenhouse and is currently researching the growth potential.
The grower is extremely satisfied with the result both in terms of quality and productivity. The grower noted he received 3 kilograms of products from each single seed and this product is a viable alternative product for growers in the region.
He added that the crops grow much faster in the greenhouse compared to outside and it is possible to receive products in a thermal greenhouse 11 months of a year which would make it more attractive for the growers in the area.
