Italy: Retilplast presents Polynet

Retilplast Srl has been producing and selling nets, films and tarpaulins for the protection of crops and orchards since 1975.

In addition to anti-hail, anti-insect and shade nets, the company also developed tarpaulins for the protection of table grapes, cherries and soft fruit.

Among its flagship products there are PolyTex nets, PolyUva PE films, anti-hail nets and shade/wind break nets. 59% of the production is destined to the domestic market.

In 2013 Retilplast launched PolyNet, a combination of PolyUva and Polytex used to protect table grapes from rain and adjust ripening.

Traditional films (PolyUva) and tarpaulins (PolyTex) protect the produce from rain, hail and wind and regulate the variations in temperature, whereas PolyNet also enables to adjust the light coming through during the day. The lighter side is placed facing East, whereas the thicker one faces West in order to avoid sudden changes in temperatures during the day and keep light uniform, thus maintaining a regular photosynthesis throughout the day.
