"Even a crop hook can contribute to sustainably feeding world population"

A crop hook with two stainless steel clamps, provided with a foam insert piece, has been nominated for the AIA18. AIA18 stands for the Accelerating Innovation Awards. The mentioned crop hook is an idea from Cor Pellikaan. It is marketed under the name Qlipr. Qlipr fits in the cultivation of tomatoes, cucumbers and in peppers and eggplants and also in the cultivation of soft fruit.

There are 8 themes at AIA18: Education, Finance, Nutrition, Climate, Living & Working, Security, Mobility and Health. Qlipr is in the final race, together with 25 other innovations in the Nutrition theme. The Nutrition theme is dedicated to "How can we sustainably feed our growing world population?"

Cor Pellikaan: "During the development and enhancement of our Qlipr System we were constantly looking for improvement that not only benefits the investment (of our customers), but also our earth. The growing waste mountain in horticulture is a major problem. Much of that plastic disappears back into the ground. A grower, who works with the Qlipr System, no longer contributes to the waste mountain. Qlipr is sustainable and that is also one of the main reasons that we were chosen by the jury in the top 25."

The award ceremony will take place on November 2nd.
