New Holland's methane tractor will be tested during one month at the Agrosfera cooperative. It's a prototype that is constantly being monitored according to user suggestions. Mass production is expected for 2020.
Sales director Andrea Leonardi delivered the tractor together with collaborator Francesco Zazzetta, who reported that "we're focusing a lot on the range. We have currently reached half a working day, but we're about to reach one full day. This prototype is a 6 cylinder with 180 cv."

The engine performs just like a diesel one but reduces general emissions by 80% and CO2 emissions by 10%. Unlike a diesel engine, the new methane tractor is also less noisy. It could be the ideal solution for large companies generating methane from biomass and therefore have fuel available at almost no cost.
