CombiVliet working with Timeax

The first cultivation switches in the world of tomatoes have been completed again this year. It concerns cultivation under light that has recently started a new cultivation season. An exciting time, as a good start is half the job, or so the saying goes. "It remains important to keep a close eye on the cultivation, 24/7, so that we as cultivation specialists see, feel and measure what has to be done. It's a science to get the best out of these new plants," says Ariën Hartman, cultivation specialist at CombiVliet, location NoordVliet in Middenmeer.

CombiVliet has a new cocktail tomato variety from Axia Seeds this year, the Timeax. This new tomato defines itself in a combination of positive characteristics, such as a very good flavour, early and quick blooming, resistance, long vine tomatoes - nice back, high early and total production.

From l-r: Joris Mulders (AgroCare), Cees Kortekaas (Axia Seeds), Stephan van der Lans (Lans Tomaten), Peter Bot (Royal Pride), Ariën Hartman (CombiVliet), Ronald Scholten (AgroCare).

The growers who will be growing this new variety this season, have regular conversations with each other and take a look in each others 'kitchen' to get the best out of the plants. "That's the great thing with horticulture, sharing knowledge among each other. We learn a lot together here. The cultivation looks promising, we'll make it work together!" says Ariën Hartman.
