Amar Hidroponía
"The largest greenhouse of habanero peppers in Mexico"
The president of the Mexican company, Amar Hidroponía, said that in 2016 they had had an annual output of 6,000 tons of habanero peppers and had generated 200 direct jobs and almost one thousand indirect jobs in the area of Leona Vicario.
In an interview, he said their company was the biggest producer of greenhouse habanero peppers worldwide, as they produced more than 6,000 tons of hydroponic habanero peppers per year for the European, American, and Asian markets. The businessman made this statements during a visit from Mayor Laura Fernandez Piña to the greenhouse.
After touring the company, the mayor said Puerto Morelos was fertile ground for productive projects that promoted the creation of jobs for the population.
As part of her visit to Amar Hydroponía, the mayor highlighted the fact that these businesses were seeing the young municipality, and Leona Vicario in particular, as profitable and strategic locations for development.
They Mayor toured the greenhouse, which is located on the outskirts of the village, in the company of the municipal delegate, Leouvin Moysés Cahuich.
She also said that the company's job creation in the young municipality was paramount to generating greater welfare for families.
Laura Fernandez stressed the importance of continuing this approach with companies that foster a good working relationship with workers and promote economic development in this area of the state.
