Van den Dool system lifts complete bays:
Hoisting saves time on ground cover replacement
The crop change is usually a good period to replace the ground cover of your greenhouse. But with connected tube rail support being installed in many greenhouses these days, it can become a quite complicated and time consuming task. For this reason, Dutch bell pepper grower Paul Kaashoek contacted TC van den Dool to help him to lift the pipes, two bays at a time. A total of 7 hectares of ground cover was replaced within 2 and a half weeks.
Vincent van den Dool explained that he used the hoists and other materials he usually uses to lift and renovate greenhouses. A total of 20 men were involved in the process to hoist the pipe rail heating tubes and supports on a total of 6000 square meters. A total of 7,000 kg went up at once with the help of hoists that were mounted on the trellis.
In total, seven hectares of ground cover was replaced with a new Svensson ground cover and all of the heating pipes are back in place. Next week, the new crop will be planted.
