Silke Hemming announced as Keynote Speaker:

Canadian Greenhouse Conference looks at energy savings

The targets for energy saving in Dutch horticulture are high and Canadian growers are likely to find that energy costs and government regulations will soon be as stringent as those experienced by our European counterparts. In her keynote address “The Future of Greenhouse Industry - from energy consumer to energy supplier”, Silke Hemming explains the newest developments in coverings, the use of sensors and innovative design to conserve energy and the ability of the greenhouse industry to generate power. Don’t miss this opportunity for a glimpse into the future.

Keynote Speaker, Silke Hemming, Wageningen University, The Netherlands.

In a second presentation, Hemming reviews experimental research that has shown improved production under diffuse light conditions. Learn the effect of diffuse light on different crop species and about innovative materials now under development. Hemming will speak twice on Wednesday, October 5th, speaking in the vegetable session at 9:30 am and delivering the keynote address at 11:45 am.
