While elsewhere a fight was waged against flooding, emergency services also had to turn out to fight a fire. A fire had broken out in the shed of a TOV nursery in The Westland last week too. It was thought to be a fire in the CHP installation, but it turned out that the fire was raging in the shed, caused by a short circuit.
It was quickly scaled up to a large fire, with the smoke pollution visible in the neighboring town of Westerlee. Smoke also entered the greenhouse. The fire was brought under control with the help of fireworkers from several municipalities in the region.
