Agragex promotes Spanish industry at GreenTech

Innovation is key to address the challenges horticulture faces in meeting the food needs of a growing population. Horticulture has to increase its productivity keeping the highest environmental respect. Spanish innovation for crop care, greenhouses and irrigation is the answer to increase efficiency in horticulture, providing innovative technologies.

Agragex, the Spanish Exporters Association of Agricultural Machinery and its components, Greenhouses and Crop Protection, Irrigation Systems, Livestock Equipment, Nutrition and Animal Health, one of the supporting partners of the first edition of GreenTech, will again attend this new edition of the trade show, to promote the Spanish industry’s state of the art innovation at Greentech 2016.

Why Spanish technology?
Spain’s specific conditions have developed one the biggest horticulture areas under plastic and worldwide leading innovation of irrigation and water management systems, due to its constant lack of rain. This has caused the Spanish manufacturers to develop advanced technologies to answer this demanding marketplace in horticulture.

The greenhouse production in Spain has the largest extensions of production under plastic in the world, with extreme growing conditions. This is the reason why the Spanish industry is known for its continuous innovation and creativity, always looking for new solutions.

An example of these innovative solutions are some of the technologies that the Spanish manufacturers will showcase at GreenTech 2016, such as advanced control systems for greenhouses that allow to control both climate and irrigation optimizing the resources; plastic technologies to control the amount of light and temperature the crops are exposed to; tailor made fertilizing solutions to achieve any specific crop requirement; bioplastics or greenhouse technology that generates energy savings.
