This week, British tomatoes on the vine could be found at Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Marks and Spencer. Co-op and Lidl offered Dutch TOV's and Waitrose trucked in Spanish tomatoes, after offering British for the last 4 weeks.
The prices for the TOV's at the retailers varied from £8,60 per kilo for the British tomatoes at M&S to £3, per kilo for the Dutch tomatoes at Co-op.
The prices for the cucumbers varied from 45 pence for cukes at Waitrose, M&S, Co-op and Sainsbury's, to as low as 39 pence for the cukes at Aldi and Lidl.
Dutch cucumbers were present at Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Co-op, Aldi and Lidl. Tesco, M&S and Waitrose are offering British cucumbers this week.
The prices that British consumers pay for the cucumbers have been very stable since February. Almost every retailer sells the cukes for a steady price, only Aldi and Lidl sometimes have promotions, like in week 15, when they were offering cucumbers for just 29 pence.
