Horconex celebrates 30th anniversary

Horconex is a (Dutch) international greenhouse construction company with its roots in France. In 1986, the opportunity was seen to not take its first steps in the Netherlands but on French soil. French horticultural companies were looking for new developments in the field of greenhouses and related equipment. This was exactly what Horconex could offer them, using innovative Dutch horticultural technology. Thus the foundation was laid for a promising collaboration, whereby this technology was adapted to the local conditions. So Horconex has every reason to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Over the past 30 years Horconex’ international ambition has further expanded into the European market. Besides in France and the Netherlands, nowadays they also provide complete landscaping projects to Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Finland and Estonia, among others.

Besides expanding in the European market Horconex has also made strong technical advances with regard to the greenhouse in the past 30 years. With the patented Activenlo system, for example, Horconex has met growers’ demands for more energy efficient cultivation.

This system, based on an active control of humidity in the greenhouse, gives the grower energy savings up to 25%. The Activenlo system also relieves concerns regarding too high RH related to a second screen, so that total energy savings can rise up to 40%. In the meantime almost 45 ha of greenhouse has been built with the unique Activenlo system. In addition, another 15 ha is being prepared to easily adjust the greenhouse to the Activenlo system in the future.
