US: Joanna Rees joins Harvest Power's board of directors

Harvest Power, a company that's active in organics sustainability solutions, announced that Joanna Rees has joined its board of directors.

“Joanna brings a broad spectrum of consumer facing experience to our board,” said Mike Ahearn, Chairman of Harvest’s board of directors. He continued, “She will add a unique and valuable perspective to help guide Harvest’s next phase of growth.”

Joanna has served on the board of more than 25 companies across a broad range of industries including Stonyfield Farms, the first nationally distributed organic yogurt brand in the U.S. Joanna is also a Senior Partner of The B Team, an organization formed by a global group of business leaders to catalyze a better way of doing business.

“The goal of organics sustainability has become increasingly important to communities that understand the benefits of recycling organic materials into products that are good for the environment,” remarked Chris Kasper, Harvest’s CEO. “Joanna will play a key role in helping Harvest grow our brand, and expand our leadership role in this space in North America.”

Harvest offers an integrated set of organics sustainability solutions, helping turn food waste, green waste and wood waste into renewable energy, soil blends and other organic products. It operates at more than 25 locations throughout North America and sells more than 35 million bags of organic products to consumers through its retail partners.

“Harvest is an extraordinary company doing important work during an exciting time,” commented Joanna Rees. She continued, “Harvest’s story is at the nexus of three important trends – organics recycling, renewable energy and soil revitalization – which resonate in communities and throughout the marketplace. I look forward to working with them to tell this story.”
