Australia: E.E. Muir and Sons acquires Serve-Ag

Australian vegetable grower body AUSVEG has welcomed the announcement that leading Tasmanian-based agribusiness Serve-Ag will be acquired by E.E. Muir and Sons on 1 May 2016, creating the only privately owned agribusiness that has representation in every Australian state.

“This merger is great news for Tasmanian vegetable and potato growers, as it will ensure they are able to benefit from the wide range of products and expertise offered by E.E. Muir and Sons,” said AUSVEG National Marketing Manager Nathan McIntyre.

“It is also a welcome announcement for growers around the country, as Serve-Ag, which has been offering professional agricultural services to Tasmanian growers for over 40 years, will now have the support to be involved in more nation-wide projects.”

“Vegetable and potato growers across the country will be able to benefit from the combined resources and specialty services of both companies. Given the outstanding reputation that both companies hold within the industry, this is a great development for growers.”
