Largest agricultural expo in Israel set to take place next month

On January 20-21 at the Yair centre in Hezeva, located in the Arava region in southern Israel, the largest agricultural exposition in the country is set to take place for the 25th year. The organisers report over 120 companies have already confirmed their participation, with more expected to join.

The exposition is expected to bring in tens of thousands of visitors, both local and from abroad, to the showrooms and demonstrations which will be spread over a 1.5 hectare complex. Visitors can expect to witness the most recent developments in agricultural technology, the thriving desert agriculture practised in the region, and the finest agricultural produce available for export.

Some examples that will be included in the expo are: packing mechanisations, water solutions, solar energy integration, newly developed varieties of vegetables and fruits, as well as aquaculture and agricultural machinery.

Boaz Horowitz of Ein Yahav, one of the organisers of the expo, said “due to the difficult economic climate for Israeli agricultural, we chose to present unique and innovative solutions to dealing with these conditions. The purpose of the expo is to serve as a central meeting point for anyone involved in agriculture, as well as display and market the advancements in Israeli agriculture to the world.”

The events will start off with a ceremony at 08:30 on Wednesday, 20th of January, which will be attended by Israel’s minister of agriculture. The expo will be concluded with a lecture at 16:30 on Thursday, 21st of January.
