Philippines: Greenpeace distributes seeds to typhoon-stricken farmers

Highland farmers whose crops were damaged by Typhoon Lando received free seeds from the international environmental group Greenpeace.

Greenpeace and its partners carried out the #IamHampasLupa seed transfer project last weekend in farming communities in Tublay and La Trinidad.

Angelica Pago of Greenpeace said 200 farmers were given seeds to organically grow sweet peas, lettuce, carrots, pechay, cucumber and vermicast.

The seed distribution was organized with the help of the Cordillera Organic Producers Association and students from Benguet State University and Saint Louis University.
