NTU Ranking 2015: Wageningen best agricultural university in the world
Wageningen University is the best agricultural university in the world according to the National Taiwan University Ranking 2015.
The NTU Ranking is a performance ranking for world universities based on the production and impact of their scientific papers. It is a reliable ranking for universities devoted to scientific research. It is entirely based on statistics of scientific papers which reflect three major performances: research productivity, research impact, and research excellence. In addition to the overall performance ranking, they make 6 field-based rankings and 14 subject-based rankings.
In the field of Agriculture, Wageningen University scores first for the third year in a row. In the subject of Agricultural Sciences, Wageningen University scores first, in Plant and Animal Sciences second, and in the subject of Environment and Ecology third in the world. Overall, Wageningen University rises to the 148th place.
The NTU Ranking is based on the WOS en ESI databases of Thomson Reuters.
This week, also the 2016 U.S. News Best Global Universities rankings were released, identifying the top 750 institutions across the world. These rankings are based on data of Thomson Reuters as well, but use a different methodology, centered on academic research and reputation. Wageningen University was world top in agricultural sciences, and ranked third in plant and animal sciences.
