Ridder announced that it has launched a new poly range specifically designed for poly greenhouses. The current range of drive motors was especially designed for use in glass greenhouses. The demand for other drives increased by the growth of the poly greenhouse acreage. That's why, after two years of developing Ridder introduces this new poly range. In the coming weeks a phased rollout will take place.
Different requirements
The reason for the new poly range lies in the strong growth in global acreage of poly greenhouses. This greenhouse owes its popularity to the favorable construction price per square meter and the ever improving yields. Poly Greenhouses make different demands on drive systems. The price is an important factor as well as the maintenance of the drive systems. Since poly greenhouses are often used in areas close to the equator in extreme weather conditions, they must be highly reliable. The construction of the poly greenhouse also makes different requirements. For example, these drive systems have to be light in weight and must be mounted in any desired position.
Added value for greenhouse builder and grower
Paul de Haan, R&D Director of Ridder Drive Systems: "The development of this high-quality poly range took more than two years. All components therefore are subjected to extensive testing. The new range is specifically designed for multipurpose use in poly greenhouses, for both ridge ventilation and side wall rollup vents. The main product of this poly range is the Ridder PolyDrive, a unique, lightweight, compact and fully oil-tight drive. Mounting and installing this PolyDrive can take place in every position in a very simple manner. The new developed end switch is contributing to this as well. Besides the Poly Drive a new Poly Telescope and PolyCarriage is available. Also an intelligent control is available for this poly range, the Ridder MotorControl."
Phased rollout of the new range
The rollout of the poly range will take place in a phased way. The Cultivate '15 will have the real scoop with a demo set-up of the two rollup systems. The poly range is destined for the international poly market. The greatest growth is expected in countries like China, Turkey, France and Spain. Ridder will automatically deliver greenhouse builders in these countries a demo model. After that a visit will take place to provide further explanation. Also Dutch greenhouse builders that are in the poly greenhouse business will be approached in the same way.
