Enza Zaden USA begins Salinas’ addition

Enza Zaden USA recently broke ground on a new 24,400-square-foot addition to its existing facility with the support of Wald, Ruhnke & Dost Architects and general contractor Ausonio Incorporated.

The international seed company’s commercial facility will more than double in size and includes temperature and humidity controlled rooms for storing seeds.

Between 2010-2015, Enza Zaden USA doubled the number of employees working in Salinas, and the new addition will bring them together under one roof. The additional space will also support expanded seed cleaning, treatment, cold storage and packaging processes.

Enza Zaden began its subsidiary in Salinas in 2000 focusing on lettuce seeds, and its product line has grown to include herbs, spinach and arugula seeds.
