Bahrain: Measures on imported fruits, vegetables tightened

In line with HRH Prime Minister's directives on tightening control on imported fruits and vegetables to ensure consumers' health, the Joint Agriculture and Health Committee today held a meeting to discuss means of cooperation and coordination to ensure the implementation of the same directives.

Agriculture and Marine Resources Undersecretary Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa chaired the meeting in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Healthcare and Public Health Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma.

The two sides distributed their roles and responsibilities in respect of tightening precautionary measures on imported fruits and vegetables in conformity with prevailing laws and regulations.
