Arable or horticultural growers can apply to the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) for a grant to buy LED lighting with wavelength control. LED lighting with wavelength control can be set to specific wavelengths to improve crop growth.
This grant is part of the Countryside Productivity Scheme.
How much funding is available
Grants will cover up to 40% of the total eligible costs of a proposal. This is a small grant – a grant for between £2,500 and £35,000.
What the grants will fund
Applicants need to apply for funding to buy and install LED lighting with wavelength control. This includes the lights, control mechanisms and associated computer software to control and regulate the change of the wavelength of the light (not standard white LED lighting).
