Enza Zaden and Horti-Grow together at Horti Asia

Enza Zaden and their Thai partner Horti-Growparticipated in the Horti Asia this week. "The first days of the exhibition were a great success. A lot of visitors found their way to the exhibition hall and we met a lot of people at our booth," says Ruud Berkvens, stand manager at Horti Asia. “Visitors are mainly Thai growers, but we also see a lot of specialized growers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Filipinas, Vietnam and Myanmar.”

Hydroponic lettuce

The booth of Enza Zaden/Horti-Grow focuses on healthy vegetables. “We present a wide range of our healthy vegetable varieties. For example our hydroponic lettuce,” says Berkvens. “The production of hydroponic lettuce is growing in Thailand for several years now. A lot of growers start with a small hobby set and have grown to become a large scale lettuce producer.”

Special interest

Besides lettuce also other crops get a lot of attention at the Enza Zaden/Horti-Grow booth. “Visitors have special interest for the tomato variety Sylvana, This is a large tomato, or table tomato as they call it here, for fresh consumption. Sylvana has a nice red colour and firm fruit. Also our pepper range is very popular amongst people form Thailand and Southeast Asia.”

Cooperation

The cooperation between Enza Zaden and Horti-Grow is not only valuable for this exhibition. Berkvens: “In Asia cooperation with a professional local partner is crucial. Horti-Grow gives us the right support for our activities in Thailand.
