Van Nature expands range with Courgette Fleurs
Courgette Fleurs, as they are called in the Netherlands, bloom only 4 to 5 hours, during which time they have to be harvested as they open only once. Because flowering occurs early in the morning, the Fleurs are harvested before dawn. They are packaged directly after in order to keep them lovely and fresh.
Zucchini Fleurs come in both female and male flowers (Courgette Fioretta). With the female flowers the young zucchini embryo is still attached. Zucchini Fleurs, if properly packed and cooled, can be kept for 4 to 6 days.
