US (CA): Sunselect to build another 13.5 hectare Ultra-Clima® greenhouse

The construction of SunSelect phase 1A has just been completed and the first crops of capsicums and tomatoes are in. Alongside this 13.5-hectare Ultra-Clima® greenhouse in Tehachapi (California, USA), the construction of yet another 13.5-hectare greenhouse has started. This phase, phase 1B, will also be an Ultra-Clima® greenhouse. A greenhouse with proven technology in which more production is achieved at a lower cost price. At 1,210 metres above sea level, the location is at a relatively high altitude, actually giving it a desert mountain climate with hot summer days and cool nights. The high level of solar radiation year-round is also typical. In the winter, however, the nights can be very cold, with frost.

Once this greenhouse is ready, Tehachapi will be home to some 27 hectares of Ultra-Clima® greenhouses and another area of the same size is planned for the future.

Start of construction on SunSelect phase 1B week 4
